This vase starts on the potters wheel and is finished using the screen-printing technique typical of my work. The exterior imagery is created with screen-printed underglaze on paper, which is then torn and applied to form a unique collage effect. Each vase I make is unique and each viewpoint of the vase is distinct. This vase is based on imagery of seaweed by the 19th century botanist and photographer, Anna Atkins.
